USF Athletics: Bulls Announce NEW NIL Strategy Unit Led by Andrew Warsaw

Warsaw to lead team focused on maximizing NIL opportunities and resources for all Bulls athletic programs

TAMPA, JULY 29, 2024 – Vice President for Athletics Michael Kelly has announced the addition of a new NIL Strategy unit within South Florida Athletics and has named current Associate Athletic Director/USF Football Chief of Staff Andrew Warsaw to lead the unit, adding NIL General Manager to his title.

“College athletics is changing and evolving rapidly and the University of South Florida intends to be on the forefront of that evolution,” Kelly said. “We are building a model athletic department for these modern times. As the era of permissiveness with what we can provide student-athletes and revenue sharing continues to evolve, South Florida intends to be as aggressive as we can be and continue to meet every new standard.”

Warsaw, who has worked alongside head football coach Alex Golesh as football chief of staff since December of 2022 and has nearly 20 years of collegiate and NFL operations experience, will lead an initial staff of four in the NIL Strategy department. Staff members will be tasked with identification of NIL opportunities, NIL marketing, fundraising, education, scheduling and execution of NIL commitments, and the growth of NIL resources among their duties serving USF’s nearly 500 student-athletes across 21 sports.

“This is an exciting time at the University of South Florida and a tremendous opportunity to lead a team that will have a major impact on the resources we can provide USF student-athletes and our ability to compete at the highest level across all sports,” Warsaw said. “There is a great commitment from the University and Vice President for Athletics Michael Kelly to participate in NIL opportunities at the highest level allowed. The NIL Strategy team working with our outstanding student-athletes, coaches, donors, partners, and fast-growing community will be a big part of our ability to do just that and be in a position for success as the collegiate sports landscape continues to evolve.

“There is so much opportunity here in the Bay Area and a strong desire within the community to be involved and associated with elite college athletics.”

Additional staff positions under Warsaw’s direction will include an assistant general manager, a director of NIL community development, a manager of NIL operations and a director of NIL administration.

The Fowler Avenue Collective will continue to serve as the exclusive collective of South Florida Athletics.  The Fowler Avenue Collective is independent of South Florida Athletics with a mission to educate, support and market Bull student-athletes.
