The Gators women’s team, last season’s second-place finisher at the South Regional, are coming off of a strong third-place finish at the SEC Championships in College Station, Texas on November 1. The Gators entered this season as the No. 1-ranked team in the South Region.
Hilda Olemomoi, the SEC Cross Country Silver Medalist, finished third at last season’s South Regional, and is expected to be among the leaders in Tallahassee. Senior Allison Wilson stormed to a 14th-place finish a year ago at the South Regionals, and will again contend to be among Florida’s top scorers along with newcomers Tia Wilson, Beth Morley, and SEC All-Freshman selection Gabrielle Schmidt.
On the Men’s side, seven athletes will step to the line including Florida’s top scorer at the SEC Championships, Ethan Geiger. Redshirt-freshman Riley Novack will also look to continue his strong first season in Orange and Blue, having factored into Florida’s scoring in every one of Florida’s meets this season. Novack is the only Gator athlete for either the Men’s or Women’s team to compete in every one of this season’s races.
