UF WTN: Gators Host Mizzou and Vanderbilt in SEC Home Weekend

Florida continues its 2024-25 SEC campaign, welcoming Missouri to Gainesville Friday evening and the Commodores Sunday afternoon.

GAINESVILLE, Fla.- Florida will host two conference opponents this weekend, opening with Mizzou Friday at 5 p.m. and closing Sunday afternoon against Vanderbilt. UF enters the duo of SEC matches after defeating Morgan State 5-2 on Thursday evening.

GATORS LAST TIME OUT
The Gators earned their seventh home win of the 2025 season, defeating Morgan State 5-2 on Thursday night. Both of the Gators’ pairings for doubles cruised to 6-2 victories to secure an early 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

No. 91 Alicia Dudeney<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/alicia-dudeney/16980> initiated singles, dominating on court two with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Morgan State’s Marta Serra Carles. Noémie Oliveras followed, logging a  6-1, 6-0 victory giving the Gators their third point of the evening.

Florida’s winning point came from newcomer Reagan Parker<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/reagan-parker/17708> in her Gator debut. The freshman delivered a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Stefania Moysiadi to secure UF’s victory. Rachel Gailis<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/rachel-gailis/16981> put the finishing touches on court one with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Morgan State’s two points over Florida were tallied in singles, with a win on court three, as Bente Spee<https://floridagators.com/sports/womens-tennis/roster/bente-spee/16983> was defeated 6-7, 6-3, 10-6 by Julia Jeffrey, and a default win on court six.

ABOUT THE TIGERS:
The Tigers are searching for their second win in conference play after dropping four straight matches to: Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Texas. Mizzou is not represented in the ITA rankings for any of the respective categories.

Missouri is currently 1-6 in conference action with their only win coming from a 4-3 battle against Mississippi State. Overall, Mizzou stands at 10-7 for the 2025 season and will continue on the road after facing UF to play at No. 8 Auburn on Sunday.

ABOUT THE COMMODORES:
No. 15 Vanderbilt currently stands at 5-2 in conference action and holds a 2-1 SEC record on the road. Vandy’s five wins were posted against: Missouri (7-0), Mississippi State (7-0), Alabama (5-2), Arkansas (5-2), and Texas A&M (5-2). Before their trip to Gainesville, Vanderbilt will play at No. 8 Auburn on Friday evening.

The Commodores have three ranked singles players, No. 11 Celia-Belle Mohr, No. 44 Bridget Stammel, and No. 56 Valeria Ray. In doubles, Vanderbilt has Mohr and Sophia Webster sitting at No. 14.

FLORIDA IN THE RANKS:
The Gators currently sit at No. 22 in the ITA rankings and have representation in both the singles and doubles categories. Gailis sits at No. 39 in singles as she works her way back up in the ranks, and Dudeney is in the top 100 at No. 91.
