The Gators compete in their annual mid-season meet against Auburn on Wednesday-Friday.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida women’s swimming and diving program will compete in its annual mid-season meet at the Auburn Fall Invitational from Nov. 18-20 at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center.
No. 10 Florida (1-1) will take on host Auburn in the 42-event, championship-style meet that consists of prelim, diving and final sessions each of the three days. The top-18 prelim swims or scores will move on to A, B and C evening final heats, with only the A and B finals being scored. The only exceptions will be relays, the 1,650 free and platform diving, as no additional heats of the event will take place.
Gators swimmers and divers will be able to compete in four individual events, as well as an unlimited number of relays over the course of the invitational.
Live results for all three days can be found here (https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__sidearmstats.com_auburn_swim_&d=DwIFAg&c=sJ6xIWYx-zLMB3EPkvcnVg&r=o5LKAX7slotfFMyE71jI7L22NYBIi1-KbRGNSXudTPo&m=bkY1W8n-sXG2Dp45kqD_cSThVljRJ1Uhn2wiZgsA1tQ&s=2jtSstT5oFfOHa0XnoqhoVW1UMAjnxtOZw6GeoSsR6Y&e= ), as well as the MeetMobile app.
UF heads into the meet coming off their first win of the season on Nov. 5 over in-state rival Miami. In their home opener, Florida would register the top time in all swimming events, including the top-three efforts in five separate races. Five Gators would notch their first victory for the Orange and Blue, including three earning their first collegiate wins.
Nikki Miller and Annette Schultz would lead the Gators, winning two events apiece. Cecilia Porter was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week for her efforts, her first career conference accolade, after winning the 100 breast in a B-cut effort of 1:01.82 and being a member of the winning 200 medley relay to start off the dual with the Hurricanes.
Looking Ahead
The invitational will mark the conclusion of the swimming portion of Florida’s 2020 schedule. After a short break, Florida men’s and women’s divers will head south to compete in the Miami Diving Invitational on Dec. 2-4 to wrap up 2020 competition.
The Gators will be back in action on Jan. 9 in a home dual with SEC foe Texas A&M. The program will end its season hosting North Florida in a dual on Jan. 20 before heading back to Auburn in their season finale on Jan. 23 to end the regular season.
