UF WGOLF | Klonowski Finishes Third, Gators Fourth at Mary Fossum Invitational

Four Gators finished in the top-25 with Addison Klonowski placing 3rd at 6-under.

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Florida women’s golfer Addison Klonowski took third with a score of 6-under 210 at the Mary Fossum Invitational with the Gators finishing fourth on Monday at Forest Akers West Golf Course.

Four Gators finished top-25 as the team’s fourth place finish was the second straight in the fall season behind a final team score of 874 (+10). Ole Miss won the event at 17-under followed by host Michigan State at 2-under and Minnesota at 8-over.

In her first collegiate season, Klonowski led the Gators with a season-best outing. She shot a final round of 1-under 70 for her fourth under par and fifth par or better round in six total rounds this season. The redshirt-freshman has finished 3rd and T18 in her two outings. Klonowski held marks of 2.67 (-4) on par3, 4.00 (E) and 4.83 (-2) on par5 scoring. Out of her 54-holes, she made 38 pars, 11 birdies and only five bogeys.

Another first-year Gator that had a strong performance was Elaine Widjaja in a tie for 15th. She finished T8 in the season opener and her collegiate debut. The freshman had a 54-hole score of 220 (+4).

A stroke behind Widjaja was Highland, Mich. native Sophie Stevens (+5) in T20 as Siuue Wu (+6) followed back of her in T25. Wu competed as an individual in her collegiate debut.

Freshman Jessica Guiser had her best round of the tournament this afternoon with a 73 (+1) and ended T35. Inès Archer rounded out the lineup in T40.

Florida heads to the Barbara Nicklaus Cup (Oct. 7-8) at Muirfield Village Golf Club, which will feature stroke play and match play with the Gators men’s golf program.
