GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida women’s golf team heads to Athens, Ga. to compete in the 49th annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, hosted by the University of Georgia.
The three-day tournament is scheduled to begin on Friday, March 19 and continue through the weekend.

Format: The Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic will feature 54 holes of stroke play with 18 holes being played each day. The Gators will tee it up at 8:35 a.m. ET in the first round of competition. Tee times for Saturday and Sunday will be awarded based on the team’s position on the leaderboard.
Course Information: Competition is being held at the Par 72, 6,302-yard UGA Golf Course. After opening for play on August 31, 1968, the golf course underwent renovations in 1990 and again in 2006. The course has received numerous accolades, most recently coming in at No. 14 in Golfweek Magazine’s collegiate golf course rankings and ranked the 6th best public golf course in the state of Georgia.

Tournament History: This annual tournament is held in honor of Liz Murphey, former Associate Athletic Director at UGA and women’s intercollegiate sports pioneer. It is one of the oldest women’s collegiate tournaments in the United States.
Last Time Out: After recording a win at home for the sixth year in a row, the Florida women’s golf team traveled to Columbia, S.C. to compete against a stacked field in the Gamecock Intercollegiate.
Maisie Filler paced the way for the Gators, recording her third top-25 finish of the season. The freshman carded a 3-over par 219 to tie for 20th place individually.
Jenny Kim was next in the Florida lineup, recording a 10-over par 226 to finish tied for 56th.
Marina Escobar, Elin Esborn and Clara Manzalini rounded out the Gators lineup.
Coming Up: The Gators will travel to Baton Rouge, La. for their regular season finale when they compete in the LSU Tiger Invitational. The tournament is scheduled to begin on April 6.
