UF WGOLF: Gators Selected to Albuquerque Regional, Earn No. 2 Seed

Florida makes its 28th all-time regional appearance with round one set for Monday, May 9 at The Championship Course at UNM.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Florida women’s golf team was selected to compete as the No. 2 seed in the Albuquerque Regional, the NCAA announced Wednesday in conjunction with Golf Channel.

The three-day event begins on Monday, May 9 at the UNM Championship Course hosted by the University of New Mexico. After 54 holes, the top-4 teams and two individuals (not on an advancing team) advance to the NCAA Championships at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., from May 20-25

Earlier this year, the NCAA announced the expansion from four to six regional sites, matching the same amount on the men’s side. A total of 72 teams and 36 individuals will compete overall as the five other hosts schools include – Florida State, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Stanford and Vanderbilt

The Gators have qualified for 28 of the 29 all-time women’s golf regionals as they were introduced in 1993. Florida has made every regional since 2000 and each year under head coach Emily Glaser. The program has won three titles with the first in 2008 and back-to-back in 2016 and 2017.

Florida finished runner-up at the 2022 SEC Championships after recording its first-ever victories in the match play format since it was added in 2018. The No. 5 seeded Gators knocked off the reigning conference champion and No. 1 seeded Auburn Tigers and the defending national champions, Ole Miss.
