Florida tees off the final round of stroke play one-shot outside the match play cut tomorrow.
BELLEAIR, Fla. – The No. 24 Florida women’s golf team enters one stroke back of the match play cut tomorrow at the SEC Championship on Tuesday at Pelican Golf Club.
The Gators had a second round of 286 (+6) to produce a 36-hole team score of 568 (+8) and are tied for 9th, trailing one shot back of the top-8 match play at the conclusion of tomorrow’s final stroke play round. UF will tee off tomorrow at 9:40 a.m. as an octad of teams will battle to advance to match play.
Florida’s low round scores came from Paula Francisco and Addison Klonowski each with a 71 (+1). Francisco had a quick start to her second set of 18-holes with a 3-under bogey-free back nine and was tied for the lead when she made the turn. She is 2-under overall and tied for 8th while sitting third in birdies in 10.
Klonowski made a six-shot improvement from her opening round and is T58. She closed strong with a 1-under bogey-free final nine holes.
UF’s final two counting scores were both from Inès Archer (T41) and Jessica Guiser (T34) with 72s (+2). The freshman, Guiser, leads the field in par3 scoring with a mark of 2.63 (-3).
The non-counting score today was from Karoline Tuttle (T30) with a 73 (+3).
