Format: The event features 54-holes of stroke play over three rounds of competition. Golfers will compete on Wednesday and Thursday, with a top-30 cut taking place after the first 36 holes. Athletes who make the cut will participate in a closed practice on Friday, April 2 with the final round taking place on Saturday.
Course Information: The first two rounds of competition will be held on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club. These are two of the three nine-hole courses by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. The final round will be played at the prestigious Augusta National Golf Club.
ANWA History: On April 4, 2018, Gators Golf alum and current Augusta National Chairman Fred Ridley announced the commencement of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the only event played by women on the prestigious course. The event was established to inspire greater interest and participation in the women’s game by creating a new, exciting and rewarding pathway for these players to fulfill their dreams.
With the Masters played the following week, the Augusta National Women’s Amateur is considered one of the most esteemed amateur golf events.
