Florida (-7) shares lead in the spring opener with Ines Archer (-4) and Elaine Widjaja (-4) tied for the individual lead.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida women’s golf team is atop of the leaderboard with the Gators tied for the team lead at 7-under behind Inès Archer and Elaine Widjaja, who are both tied for the individual lead through 36-holes at the Sea Best Intercollegiate.
In the spring opener, Florida jumped out to the lead to start the day behind 11 combined birdies in the first seven holes, owning a mark of 11-under at one point. The Gators (-7) held the lead nearly all day, until Illinois State shot a 9-under round two to sit tied with UF into tomorrow’s final round, which is set for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
The Orange and Blue are aiming for its third overall and consecutive win of the 2024-25 season. A victory at San Jose Country Club tomorrow would also mark back-to-back seasons UF has won three tournaments for the first time since 2015-16 & 2016-17 and the ninth time in program history.
The early charge was led by Addison Klonowski (T6, -2) who made four consecutive birdies on holes 3-6 and eventually took the solo lead. She shared the lead with another Gator when Widjaja made her fourth birdie across six holes (6-11). Widjaja gained the solo lead for the first set of 18-holes with a birdie on 11 (par-5, 520), one of her six in the first round with a 4-under 68. Klonowski had her team-high seventh round of under par with a 3-under 69 and sat second into round two.
After an opening round of even-par 72 for Archer, she recorded a second round of 4-under 68, tied for the low round of the tournament with Widjaja. The two Gators are tied at 4-under overall with Illinois State’s Jessica Jolly and South Alabama’s Mercedes Aldana. The Gator duo are both looking to capture their first collegiate wins.
The rest of the lineup features Paula Francisco (+3) tied for 26th and Siuue Wu (+8) in T50. Competing as an individual, Sophie Stevens (+2) is tied for 21st.
