UF WBK: Gators Defeated by Auburn in Tiger Territory

The Gators fell 74-51 on Sunday afternoon in Auburn, Ala. Florida now stands at 11-10 overall and 2-5 in conference play.

AUBURN, Ala.- Florida was challenged on the road once more, falling 74-51 at Auburn. The Gators had three players in double figures for scoring, but they were outscored by the Tigers in all but one quarter. Overall UF shot 34.8 percent from the field (16-46) and recorded 31 rebounds.

Laila Reynolds<https://admin.floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/laila-reynolds/16860> followed closely with a 10-point outing and Kenza Salgues<https://admin.floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/kenza-salgues/16861> finished with seven on the scoreboard. Defensively Kyle had seven rebounds and Me’Arah O’Neal<https://admin.floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/me-arah-o-neal/16879> brought in five, leading the Gators on the boards with a combined 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
IN THE FIRST:

  *   The Gators were held scoreless in the first seven minutes of play (10-0)
  *   Six of UF’s initial eight points were tallied on the free throw line
  *   Florida shot a game low 22.2 percent from the field (2-9)
  *   The Gators out-rebounded Auburn nine to five
  *   UF trailed by seven at the end of the period 17-10

IN THE SECOND:

  *   Eight of UF’s 11 points came from inside the paint
  *   McGill led Florida in scoring with five points
