The Gators solidified their eighth home win of the season, defeating Alabama State 88-31 inside the O’Dome.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gators defeated Alabama State 88-31 on Sunday afternoon to conclude their 2024 campaign. Senior Ra Shaya Kyle<https://admin.floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/ra-shaya-kyle/16858> led Florida with 16 points and 11 rebounds to record her eighth double-double of the season.
Liv McGill<https://admin.floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/liv-mcgill/16880> wasn’t far behind, tallying 15 points and matching her career high with nine assists. Kenza Salgues<https://admin.floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/kenza-salgues/16861> and Jeriah Warren<https://admin.floridagators.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/jeriah-warren/16862> also recorded double figure outings, Salgues putting up 11 and Warren tallying 10 points.
Florida held the Hornets to only seven points in the first 15 minutes of play and ended the first half with a 24-point lead (39-15). To start the second half, Kyle came out with a layup to open the scoring column for Florida and extend the lead to 26 points (41-15). In the third quarter Florida’s offense took off with a game high 25 points. The score stood at 64-25 heading into the final 10 minutes of play where UF continued to produce from the field. The Gators ended the second half shooting 56.7 percent from the field (17-30) to secure a combined 49 points.

* UF posted 21 points, led by Warren with six and Reynolds with five
* 12 of UF’s first period points came from the three-point line
* McGill distributed three assists and snagged two steals for the Gators
* Florida forced six turnovers on the Hornets and were held to three

* Kyle and McGill tallied six points apiece to lead Florida in scoring
* Florida recorded five steals to end the half with a combined nine
* McGill dispersed three assists to lead Florida in offensive distribution
* 10 of UF’s 18 points came from Alabama State turnovers
* The Gators shot 87.5 percent from the free throw line (7-8)
IN THE THIRD:
* UF shot a game best 52.9 percent from the field (9-17)
* Florida’s 25 points were dispersed across nine players
* 14 of UF’s 25 points came from inside the paint
* The Gators capitalized on all six trips to the charity line shooting 100 percent (6-6)

* Florida had a game high 18 bench points
