ATLANTA, Ga. – Eleven Gator women begin competition at the 2022 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on Wednesday.
The Championships will be held March 16-19 at the McAuley Center in Atlanta, with Georgia Tech serving as the host institution.
Anna Auld, Talia Bates, Elise Bauer, Leah DeGeorge, Kathleen Golding, Tylor Mathieu, Ekaterina Nikonova, Amanda Ray and Mabel Zavaros advanced to the national championships based on their season-best times in seven different events.
Maha Amer and Carina Lumia joined the group after qualifying at NCAA Diving Zones early last week. Amer will compete in all three events, while Lumia qualified on the 3-meter springboard.
Four relays also earned a spot at the NCAA Championships, with the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay hitting the qualifying standard. Both the 800 free relay and the 400 medley relay qualified with provisional standard times.
The Gators bring a plethora of NCAA experience to the meet, with Bates, Bauer, Golding, Mathieu and Ray all having competed at the championships in their careers.
