The freshman broke a record that had stood for 19 years.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Just a few days after competing in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Parvej Khan snapped a school record that had stood for 19 years.
Competing in the 1500m at the Portland Track Festival, Khan, who already held the No. 2 time (3:38.76) in Florida Track & Field history, recorded a new personal best of 3:36.21. The previous record was held by Shane Stroup who recorded a time of 3:38.57 at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Khan now holds two school records as he also claims the Indoor Mile record from his performance at the 2024 Terrier DMR Challenge. Furthermore, Khan’s time is the second fastest 1500m in Indian history.
