UF S&D: Pair of Gators Earn SEC Weekly Honors

Camyla Monroy received Women’s Diver of the Week, while Luke Corey tabbed Men’s Freshman of the Week.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida’s Camyla Monroy and Luke Corey received Southeastern Conference weekly honors for their performances against Florida State. Monroy captured SEC Women’s Diver of the Week, while Corey tabbed SEC Men’s Freshman of the Week.

Men’s Freshman of the Week: Luke Corey

Florida’s Luke Corey, a freshman from Crofton, Md., earned two podium finishes in the dual meet against No. 25 Florida State. Corey won the first 1650 free title of his collegiate career with an NCAA B-cut time of 14:58.63. He was also runner-up in the 500 free with his time of 4:22.23.

It marks the first honor of Corey’s collegiate career.

Women’s Diver of the Week: Camyla Monroy

Florida’s Camyla Monroy, a sophomore from Laz Paz, Mexico, won all three diving events in the dual meet against No. 25 Florida State. Monroy posted a season-best score of 324.68 on the 1-meter and registered a final score of 354.53 on the 3-meter for her third consecutive first-place finish. On platform, she captured first place with her top score of 301.95.

Monroy has earned SEC diving honors nine times in her two years, with four being from the 2024-25 season. Additionally, she has tallied 10 first-place finishes throughout her sophomore campaign.

The Gators turn their attention to postseason and will begin to prepare for the 2025 SEC Swimming & Diving Championships. The six-day event begins on Monday, Feb. 17 with women’s 1-meter diving before swimming events take off on Tuesday, Feb. 18 through Saturday, Feb. 22 inside Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, GA.
