No. 4/8 Gators Sweep Owls on Senior Day
Florida women extend home win streak to 17, men to 15
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 4/8 ranked Florida Gators Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving secured its third sweep of the season, defeating FAU to wrap up the home schedule. The women won 207-83 to improve to 5-1 on the season, and third dual win in a row, and 17th consecutive victory at the Anne Marie Rogers Swimming and Diving Pool. The men won 209 – 77 for its 15th straight home victory to move to 4-1 on the season.
Florida is now 46-0 all-time against the Owls between the men’s (23-0) and women’s (23-0) programs.
Emma Weyant made her Florida debut after having her transfer waiver approved. The 2020 Olympic Silver Medalist finished the day with three B-cut times.
After honoring 18 seniors prior to the meet, the Gators went on to win every event in their first action of 2023.
Women’s 1-meter, 3-meter
Maha Amer took first in the 3-meter, scoring a 328.13 and was the only diver to score over 300 points in the event. Carina Lumia came in second at 291.00, as the Gators had five to the top six finishes.
Amer also came in first in the 1-meter with a 311.63, ahead of Elettra Neroni in second, and Lumia in third.
Men’s 1-meter, 3-meter
Skip Donald continued his strong performances this season, winning the 1-meter at 348.60, ahead of Leonardo Garcia’s 334.20, who made his season debut coming back from injury. Anton Svirskyi came in third at 318.90, while Elisha Dees was fourth with 316.80.
In the 3-meter, Garcia posted a score of 437.33, just three points off the school record, for a first place finish
Women’s 200 Medley Relay
Florida went one-two-three in the event, led by a 1:39.91 from Florida’s A relay team.
Men’s 200 Medley Relay
In a close race, the Gators A relay team edged out the B relay team, winning at 1:27.85, just ahead of 1:28.89. Florida’s C relay team finished third, and the D relay team finished fourth.
Women’s 1000 Free
Tylor Mathieu posted the victory on senior day, clocking a 9:49.17 to take first, nearly 10 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Camille DeBoer came in second, followed by Leah DeGeorge and Madison Kolessar.
Men’s 1000 Free
Brennan Gravley finished comfortably ahead of the rest of the field, winning the event by over 15 seconds, touching the wall in 9:10.48.
Women’s 200 Free
In her Florida debut, Emma Weyant posted a 1:47.49 to finish first. Hayden Miller was right behind her at 1:48.83 in second, followed by Zoe Dixon and Nina Kucheran.
Men’s 200 Free
Alfonso Mestre (1:35.91) took first, edging out Joshua Liendo (1:36.27) in a close race throughout. Macguire McDuff completed the sweep for the Gators, finishing at 1:39.13 in third.
Women’s 100 Back
Aris Runnels tallied the victory, swimming a 54.17. Katie Mack came in second, Mabel Zavaros in third, and Mary Kate Kelley in fourth.
Men’s 100 Back
Cameron Abaqueta recorded a 49.95 to win the event, as all Gators finished in the top-five of the event.
Women’s 100 Breast
With a time of 1:04.24, Jessica Strong won the event, finishing ahead of Anna Moore at 1:04.89. Anna Auld finished third, and Molly Golding was fourth.
Men’s 100 Breast
Dillon Hillis touched the wall in 54.83 to secure the victory, followed by Raphael Rached Windmuller in second and Amro Al-Wir in third.
Women’s 200 Fly
Allie Piccirillo took home a senior day victory, clocking a 2:00.57, while Kathleen Golding came in second, Elise Bauer in third, and Miller in fourth.
Men’s 200 Fly
Jace Crawford’s 1:49.54 put him in first, while Eric Brown was in second at 1:51.11. Peter Bretzmann rounded out the top three at 1:52.49.
Women’s 50 Free
Ekaterina Nikonova touched the wall in 22.89 for the victory, followed my Micayla Cronk (22.83) and Georgia Bates (23.84).
Men’s 50 Free
Julian Smith posted a sub-20 time of 19.98 to take first, as all Gators finished in the top-four of the event.
Women’s 100 Free
On her senior day, Katie Mack finished first at 50.30, followed closely by Olivia Peoples at 50.80. Like so many events, the Gators finished in the top spots.
Men’s 100 Free
Alberto Mestre took home his senior day victory, posting a 43.85.
Women’s 200 Back
Zoe Dixon claimed the top spot, swimming a 1:56.41 to add another win to her impressive freshman season.
Men’s 200 Back
Jake Mitchell’s 1:48.28 gave him the victory, finishing ahead of Giovanni Linscheer at 1:51.56.
Women’s 200 Breast
Freshman Anna Moore secured her first Gators victory, posting a time of 2:19.76.
Men’s 200 Breast
Raphael Rached Windmuller went sub-two minutes for a first-place finish, clocking a 1:58.36. Billy Jones was second at 2:03.73.
Women’s 500 Free
Emma Weyant added another victory to her Gators debut, swimming a 4:45.14 to earn a B-cut time.

Nicholas Hernandez-Tome secured the top spot with a 4:24.61 on his senior day.
Women’s 100 Fly
Olivia Peoples swam a B-cut time of 53.52 to win the event for the Gators.

Julian Smith registered his second victory of the day, touching the wall in 48.08.
Women’s 200 IM
Nina Kucheran went 2:01.78 to win the event for Florida.
Men’s 200 IM
Mason Laur touched the wall in 1:49.66 to cruise to a victory.
Women’s 400 IM
Emma Weyant complete her trio of B-cuts, swimming a full 10 seconds ahead of the rest of the field at 4:10.60.
Men’s 400 IM
Kevin Vargas registered a B-cut swim of 3:49.87 as every Gator recorded a time under four minutes.
Women’s 400 Free Relay
The team of Talia Bates, Ekaterina Nikonova, Katie Mack, and Micayla Cronk dominated with a time of 3:20.13 to finish seven seconds ahead of the field.
Men’s 400 Free Relay
Macguire McDuff, Joshua Liendo, Julian Smith, and Alberto Mestre took top spot to wrap up the meet, clocking a 2:54.60.
