Amer earns third-team honors from College Sports Communicators
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida women’s diver Maha Amer was named to the 2022-23 Academic All-American women’s swimming and diving teams, announced by the College Sports Communicators Monday morning.
A redshirt senior, Amer is in her second graduate program at the University of Florida, accumulating a 3.86 GPA during her time as a Gator. She’s already graduated with a masters degree in international business, and is currently pursuing a second graduate degree in medical science.
This season, the Cairo, Egypt native set the school record in the 1-meter earlier this season with a score of 350.55. She also was an All-American and SEC silver medalist in the event.
Thirteen of the 31 members of the Academic All-America(r) Division I women’s swimming & diving teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 15 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.88.
