John DuBois earned the season’s first SEC men’s golfer of the week after a runner-up finish in the spring opener.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Backed behind a career outing in the spring opener, John DuBois was named the SEC Men’s Golfer of the Week on Thursday, the conference office announced.
DuBois led the Gators to claim the Sea Best Invitational to start the spring with a career-best T2 finish. He shot 209 (-1) for the tournament, marking a career-low while recording a 67 (-5) on the final day. A native of Windermere, Fla., he sank 11 birdies as Florida won the tournament for the fifth time in program history and third under head coach J.C. Deacon.
The Orange and Blue gear up to host the 45th annual VyStar Gators Invitational this weekend (Feb. 12-3) with the first round starting at 7:45 a.m. on Saturday at Mark Bostick Golf Course.
