UF MBK: Florida to Host Iona in NIT Action

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida men’s basketball team will host Iona in the first round of National Invitation Tournament action, it was announced on Sunday. The Gators enter the NIT as a No. 3 seed after posting a 19-13 regular season record, 9-9 in the Southeastern Conference.

The No. 6-seeded Iona Gaels bring a 25-7 overall record to Gainesville, winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference regular season title with a 17-3 conference mark.

This marks the Gators’ 11th all-time appearance in the NIT and first since 2016.

Associate head coach Al Pinkins will serve as interim head coach for Florida.
