UF MBK: Clayton Adds AP First-Team All-America Honors
Clayton is Florida’s first AP All-America selection since 2014

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida men’s basketball senior guard Walter Clayton Jr. added Associated Press first-team All-America honors to his decorated 2024-25 campaign on Tuesday.

Clayton has scored double figures in 29 of his 33 appearances this season, including the last 18 in a row, and has scored 18 points in nine of the last 12 games. He has 11 games with 20 or more points, including 22 points in both the SEC Tournament semifinal win vs. No. 5 Alabama and the championship game win vs. No. 8 Tennessee.

The Lake Wales, Fla., native has scored 579 points this season, the 10th-most in a single season in UF history. He and Neal Walk are the only two Gators with multiple performances among Florida’s top-10 scoring seasons, as Clayton rolled up 633 points last season (fifth-most).

The Gator point guard has already been named first-team All-America by The Sporting News and first-team All-SEC by the Associated Press, USA Today and the SEC coaches. He picked up SEC Tournament MVP honors in leading the Gators to their first SEC Tournament championship since 2014, and he is a finalist for the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year award.
