UF LAX | Three Gators Earn Spots on Tewaaraton Watch List

LoPinto, Pavinelli and Reznick earn a spot on the prestigious watch list

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Tewaaraton Foundation announced its 2023 Watch List on Friday and three Gators found themselves with the prestigious honor.

Emma LoPinto and Danielle Pavinelli each were tabbed to the list for the second time in their careers, while Sarah Reznick earned her third Watch List nomination.

Overall, the Gators have had 19 players earn 40 Tewaaraton Award Nominations in the 14-year history of Florida lacrosse, with five finalists.

This year marks the 22nd anniversary of the award, which annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.

  *   2022 AAC Freshman of the Year
  *   2022 All-AAC First Team
  *   2022 All-AAC Tournament Team

  *   10-time AAC Freshman of the Week (program record & conference record)
  *   Broke Florida’s freshman points record on May 5 vs. ECU – the previous record stood at 79 and has held since the first season of Florida lacrosse (Ashley Bruns – 2010)
  *   Finished the season with a total of 97 points, putting her fourth in NCAA history for most points in a rookie campaign
  *   Ranked second in the AAC in total points (97), fourth in both points per game (4.41) and assists per game (1.55) and fifth in goals per game (2.86)

  *   Led the AAC in total points with 99, sits third in both points per game (4.50) and goals per game (3.32) and is eighth in assists per game (1.18)
  *   Ranked eighth in the nation in total goals (73) and 14th in free position percentage (.630)
  *   Became Florida’s 19th 100-point scorer earlier this season

  *   Ranked first in the conference in both save percentage (.480) and goals against average (9.48) and is third in saves per game (7.64)
  *   In the nation, Reznick finished 10th in goals against average and 17th in save percentage
  *   Among active Division I players, she ranks sixth with a career 8.51 GAA
