UF LAX | Four Gators Garner AAC Weekly Honors

After a 2-0 week, Danielle Pavinelli, Sarah Reznick, Emma LoPinto and Maggi Hall are taking home AAC honors

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After defeating No. 3 Syracuse and Drexel this past week, the 11th-ranked Florida lacrosse team had four Gators earn American Athletic Conference awards, as the league announced Monday.

For the sixth-straight week, Danielle Pavinelli found herself earning a conference award, being named Attacker of the Week on Monday.

Sarah Reznick was tabbed as Defender of the Week, bringing her total to nine AAC honors in her career (1 – Defender, 8 – Freshman).

Emma LoPinto earned her fourth Freshman of the Week honor, while Maggi Hall was named to the Honor Roll for the first time in her tenure at Florida.

Pavinelli garnered her distinction after averaging 4.00 points per game this past week.

The Northport, N.Y. native tallied six points against the third-ranked Orange, coming from four goals and two assists. She registered a .500 shot percentage, while also picking up two groundballs and causing one turnover.

Pavinelli found the back of the cage twice against Drexel, including the game-winning goal with 18 seconds remaining to secure the Florida victory.

Over the course of the two games, Reznick tallied 19 saves, had a .500 save percentage and recorded a 9.50 goals-against-average.

The redshirt junior goalkeeper registered double-digit saves against No. 3 Syracuse, putting on an absolute show in the goal. She finished the game with 11 saves, a .524 save percentage and also picked up a groundball in the victory.

Against Drexel, Reznick recorded a .471 save percentage with eight saves, to go along with one groundball and one caused turnover. She held Drexel scoreless for the first 20:10 of the game.

LoPinto earned her third-straight nod as Freshman of the Week after averaging 3.50 assists per game and 1.00 goals per game.

The Manhasset, N.Y. native registered four assists against the Orange – just one off her career-best mark. She also recorded two goals on five shots in the win.

Against the Dragons, LoPinto dished out three helpers, bringing her to 14 this season.

Maggi Hall was named to the AAC Honor Roll after averaging 5.50 points per game against the Orange and the Dragons.

Against Syracuse, Hall tallied her second hat trick of the season, scoring three goals with a perfect 1.000 shooting percentage. The sophomore attacker also dished out one assist, caused two turnovers and recorded a groundball in the victory.

Hall had a career performance against Drexel on Saturday, scoring six goals on 10 shots. She netted five of the six goals in the first half alone and the sixth came at a pressing moment for Florida, tying the game against Drexel with a minute remaining. Hall also registered one assist, one groundball and one caused turnover on the afternoon.

The Gators are back in action on Wednesday when the team faces the Stetson Hatters at Donald R. Dizney Stadium. Opening draw is set for 4:30 p.m. and the game will be streamed on YouTube.
