Maggi Hall was named to the third team, as Danielle Pavinelli, Emily Heller, Liz Harrison and Elyse FInnelle all were tagged with honorable mention honors.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida lacrosse team had five players named USA Lacrosse All-Americans on Thursday morning. Maggi Hall was recognized as a third team All-American, along with Danielle Pavinelli, Emily Heller, Liz Harrison and Elyse Finnelle who were selected as All-American honorable mentions.
Hall has had a record setting career, leading the team in goals (49), assists (50) and points (99), shooting an efficient .605 percent from the field. She ranks top-10 nationally in points (third), assists (10th), and shot percentage (10th), while currently being tied for second in program history for most points in a season. The senior is one-point shy of becoming the second player in Florida history to achieve 100 points in a season, and sits just nine points away from the program record. The Bel Air, Md. native has had two nine-point games this season, and six seven-point outings, including seven points in the AAC Tournament Championship against James Madison where she took home Most Outstanding Player. The AAC Attacker of the Year also has a career high 22 ground balls this season, and has recorded a point in 38 consecutive games.
Pavinelli ranks second on the team in goals (47), assists (33) and points (80), on a .528 shooting percentage. The senior has posted 13 multi assist games this season, leading her to a new career high in that category. The Northport, N.Y. native leads the team in hat-tricks this season with nine, and is a four-time recipient of the AAC Attacker of the Week award. The captain ranks top-five in program history in goals (197), assists (87), and points (284) while looking to become just the fifth player to reach the 200-goal milestone. Pavinelli was an AAC First Team All-Conference selection this season.
Heller has gotten done on both ends of the field for the Gators this season, scoring 41 goals (third on the team) and assisting on six, while ranking second on the team in ground balls (23), draw controls (34) and caused turnovers (10). The graduate student has had five hat-tricks this season, as she has set a new career-high in goals. The West Babylon, N.Y. native totaled nine goals in the two games of the AAC Tournament, earning her to the All-Tournament team. The captain is a current Tewaaraton Top-25 nominee.
Harrison has been a draw specialist weapon for the Gators this season, ranking second in the country in both total draw controls (209) and draw controls per game (11.00). The Marietta, Ga. native has had 12 games this season with double-digit draw controls, recording 19 against UC Davis on March 6, setting the program record for most in a game. The captain has 419 career draw controls, good for the most in Gator history.
Finnelle has blossomed for the Gators at the right time this season, totaling 118 saves in 18 appearances and nine starts this season. The Deale, Md. native ranks third in the nation in save percentage at .539, and sits at 12th in goals-against average, allowing just 8.80 goals per game. Finnelle took home AAC Goalkeeper of the Year just eight days ago, and has recorded at least 10 saves in five games this season. She leads the team in ground balls this year with 28.
