Jac Caglianone, Wyatt Langford, Brandon Neely and Josh Rivera all collected All-America honors.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 2 Florida baseball team had four players named 2023 All-Americans by the
National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday in first baseman Jac Caglianone<https://floridagators.com/sports/baseball/roster/jac-caglianone/15489>,
outfielder Wyatt Langford<https://floridagators.com/sports/baseball/roster/wyatt-langford/15497>, relief pitcher Brandon Neely<https://floridagators.com/sports/baseball/roster/brandon-neely/15499> and shortstop Josh Rivera<https://floridagators.com/sports/baseball/roster/josh-rivera/15504>.
Caglianone and Langford were both included on the NCBWA’s First Team while Neely received a Second
Team honor and Rivera a Third Team nod. With the announcement, Neely and Rivera are officially All-
Americans for the first times in their careers. Caglianone and Langford were named All-Americans by
Collegiate Baseball earlier this month, albeit to the Second Team.
Picking up his first-career First Team All-America accolade, Caglianone has swatted a nation-leading and
program-record 31 home runs backed by a .336/.402/.766 slash line and 84 RBI – one shy of tying
Preston Tucker (2009) for the most in a single season at Florida. The Tampa, Fla. native is the lone player
to have appeared in every game for the Gators this season, totaling 13 doubles, 70 runs, four steals and
196 total bases, which paces the sport.
As for Langford, the Consensus All-American from one year ago picks up his second-career First Team
honor including his first of 2023. Langford ranks second in the SEC in slugging, on-base percentage and
runs scored, owning a .373/.498/.769 batting line with a team-best 1.267 OPS. Despite missing seven
games to injury, the Trenton, Fla. native has racked up 18 homers, three triples, 24 doubles (four shy of
tying program record) 76 runs, 48 RBI and nine steals – having only been caught once.
Having assumed UF’s closer role at the onset of the campaign, Neely is a first-time All-American with
Wednesday’s Second Team selection. The Seville, Fla. product is a perfect 13-for-13 in save chances,
which is tied for sixth nationally while leading the SEC. Neely has posted a 3.66 ERA over 30 appearances
spanning 46 2/3 innings, holding opposing hitters to a .233 batting average with 64 strikeouts against 17
walks.
Already holding status as First Team All-SEC, Rivera’s Third Team honor gives him All-American
recognition for the first time in his career. The Brooks Wallace Award Finalist has broken out to
the tune of a .362/.465/.633 slash line, as his 17 home runs are the most in a season of any middle
infielder in UF history. While also producing pristine defense at short, Rivera has tallied 68 RBI (team
record at SS), 66 runs, 44 walks and a team-high 16 stolen bases.
