UAB Women’s Soccer Wins Exhibition Match Against Montevallo 3-1

BIRMINGHAM — A trio of Blazers scored goals to secure a 3-1 exhibition win over Montevallo Thursday night at BBVA Field.  

The first goal of the night came from Morgan Halliwill in the 24th minute. In the 1st half, the Blazers took 10 shots, four on goal. 

Stella Kiss added the second goal of the night for UAB in the 53rd minute off an assist by Lexxe Lipsey

Montevallo scored their lone goal of the game in the 82nd minute off a pass by Medhali Hernandez to Kaeri Green. 

In the 87th minute, Asha Zuniga scored the third goal of the game for the Blazers off a corner from Jessica Wheeler

Goalkeepers Eve Beyer and Sarah Francis Adair recorded a save a piece. Zuniga led all players with five shots. 

Up next, the Blazers play their first regular season match of the spring schedule when they head to Memphis on Feb. 4. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. 
 BBVA Field will accommodate fans with social distancing measures in place.

Fans will be asked to practice social distancing and sit in available seats. Masks are required at all times per state and county ordinance.
