BIRMINGHAM –UAB will honor the Women’s Soccer Class of 2021 on Friday night when it hosts Rice at BBVA Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Blazers (7-4-1, 2-2-0 C-USA) are coming off a 3-1 setback at North Texas on March 26.
UAB is 11th in the NCAA and second in Conference USA with 30 goals scored. They are 17th in the nation and first in Conference USA in total points with 81. The Blazers’ 21 assists are 28th in the NCAA and first in the league.
The Blazers are a perfect 5-0-0 at home this season.
RICE LATELY
The Owls (8-2-0, 3-1-0 C-USA) have the longest current winning streak in Conference USA at four matches, dating back to March 15. Rice defeated Southern Miss 4-0 on March 28 to take a share of first place in Conference USA’s West Division.

Friday’s match is 14th meeting between the Blazers and Owls. Rice has an 8-5-0 edge over UAB. In games played in Birmingham, the Blazers hold a 4-2-0 advantage. The last time the teams met at BBVA Field, Kamilah Mustafa scored the game-winner in the 60th minute in UAB’s 1-0 victory on Sept. 30, 2018.

Prior to Friday’s match, the UAB Women’s Soccer Class of 2021 will be recognized. Sarah Buse, Kassandra Daniel, Regan Kommor and Kamilah Mustafa are going to be honored in a pre-match ceremony prior to kickoff.
