U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials: Grant Holloway Books Ticket to Paris with U.S. 110m Hurdle National Title

Holloway will make his second appearance at the Olympic Games in 2024.

EUGENE, Ore. – The fourth Gator Track & Field athlete has earned a spot on the 2024 Paris Olympic roster as Grant Holloway was crowned the United States 110m Hurdle National Champion on Friday in Eugene, Oregon.

The three-time 110m Hurdle World Champion is set to make his second career appearance at the Olympic Games after earning a silver medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Additionally, the Gator Great has now won his second career U.S. National Title in the event.

In addition to Holloway’s performance, Cory McGee and Robert Gregory both ran season bests to secure a spot in the 1500m and 200m finals while five other Gators made their 2024 U.S. Track & Field Olympic Trials debuts.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Finals
Men’s 110m H
Grant Holloway may have completed one of the best series of races at a National Championship in history with his finish on Friday. With times of 12.92 and 12.96 already under his belt at the U.S. Track & Field Trials, Holloway stepped to the line in Friday’s final with a spot in Paris hanging in the balance. Not only did “The Flamingo” win his second career U.S. National Title, but he also did so while running a world-leading time of 12.86.

The Olympic silver medalist, who already held the second-best performance in history (12.81), has now posted the fourth-best with Friday’s mark.

Holloway has made Hayward Field his home away from home as five of Holloway’s six best performances have occurred at Hayward Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED – Semifinals
Women’s 1500m
With a spot in the finals on the line, Cory McGee threw down her best time of the season. Crossing the finish line in 4:02.09, the Gator Great finished fourth in her heat which featured the top five times from the semifinal round.

The finals are scheduled for Sunday, June 30 at 8:09 p.m. ET.

Men’s 200m
Robert Gregory also posted his best time of the 2024 season in his race as the NCAA runner-up posted a finish of 19.98. This marks the first time Gregory has posted a sub-20 second 200m since the 2023 U.S. Championships when he ran a time of 19.90.

The 200m final will take place on Saturday, June 29 at 9:49 p.m. ET.

HOW IT HAPPENED – First Rounds
Women’s 100m H
Grace Stark earned the fifth-best time in the field en route to the 110m semifinals. The 2024 100m Hurdle NCAA Champion, placed second in her heat with a time of 12.52.

Stark will run her semifinal race on Saturday, June 29 at 8:04 p.m. ET.

Men’s Triple Jump
All four Gators competing in the Men’s Triple Jump at the Olympic Trials advanced to the event finals after finishing in the top 12 during Friday’s first-round competition. Omar Craddock, Sean Dixon-Bodie, Christian Taylor and Will Claye finished fifth, ninth, tenth and eleventh, respectively.

The finals will take place on Sunday, June 30 at 6:55 p.m. ET.
