ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Michigan Athletic Department announced the addition of two non-conference home games during the 2022 and 2023 seasons as well as the cancellation of the UCLA series. The scheduling decisions were made in an effort to provide Wolverine fans with a seven-game home schedule every season.
On June 13, 2019, Michigan informed UCLA that it was terminating the series scheduled to be played in 2022 and 2023 in order to balance the schedule with a seven-game home slate in both seasons. The Wolverines still have one game to fill in each of those two seasons.
Michigan will host Hawaii on Sept. 10, 2022, replacing the previously scheduled match-up with UCLA. This will be the second time that Hawaii travels to Ann Arbor for a game at Michigan Stadium, and will be the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs. The Wolverines defeated the Rainbows, 63-3, at the Big House during the 2016 season, and posted road wins during the 1986 (27-10) and 1998 (48-17) seasons.
East Carolina has agreed to a visit to the Big House on Sept. 2, 2023, filling the away game that was scheduled to be played at UCLA. This will be the first-ever meeting between the Pirates and Wolverines.The Wolverines will host rival Notre Dame this Saturday (Oct. 26) at Michigan Stadium. The 44th meeting in the series will be televised by ABC at 7:44 p.m. ET.
