Florida House approves gambling pact between Seminoles and State of Florida
The Florida House voted 97-17 in favor of a 30 year gambling pact between the Seminole Tribe and the State of Florida that will bring at least $500 million in annual revenue to the State of Florida. This means the Seminole Tribe will control sports betting in Florida and will be able to build three new casinos at its reservation in Hollywood. The Tribe will also have control of craps and roulette games. The federal government must sign off on the deal and there may be legal challenges. Sports betting could begin in Florida on October 15.
