December 5th, 2024 8 pm the Green Bay Packers decided to defer to the Lions to start the gridiron match up.
The game stated off with Lions leading at the half by ten. Packers Seven, Lions 17. Looking like the Lions were going to dominate the game.
Then the second half starts, and it became a colossal match up we all knew it should be!
Each team scoring back and forth. An untimely interception by Goff. Then a failed 4th down conversion!
The Packers take the lead 28 to 24. Then Goff leads the Lions to score 28 to 31. The Packers drive stalls in the red zone and they kick a field goal to make the score tied with a little over four minutes left in the game. The ending drive took the Lions into FG range for Jake Bates to make his 4th game winning FG to finalize the game at 31-34. This 11th game won by the Lions in a row, it marks the first in franchise history. It also clinched a playoff berth! First time since the ’94 and ’95 seasons that Lions had back to back playoff berths.
This by far lived up to the billing of a great game. One of the best in Amazon’s short time of Thursday Night Football programming.
