The Marjory Stoneman High School baseball team has defeated Palm Beach Gardens to win a Florida State Baseball Championship.
The Stoneman Douglas baseball team has defeated Palm Beach Gardens 10-0 to win a 7A Florida State Baseball Championship in Fort Myers.
The Eagles ended the game with a walk-off home run and the game ended early because of the mercy rule. Pitcher Chris Arroyo hit a three run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Arroyo pitched seven strikeouts in the five innings he pitched.
Jake Clemente hit a home run in the bottom of the second inning. The Eagles scored five runs in the third inning. The game was delayed because of weather conditions. Last year, Stoneman Douglas defeated Spruce Creek to win the state championship. The Eagles were also considered a national high school champion.
