FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 3 South Florida defeated No. 6 Tulane, 69-59, in the quarterfinals of the 2025 American Women’s Basketball Championship on Monday evening, March 10, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
With the win, the Bulls (21-10) will play No. 2 North Texas in the semifinals on Tuesday, March 11 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on ESPN+. This will be their tenth appearance in the Championship semifinals, a league record, and their first since 2022. South Florida improved to 19-10 all-time in the Championship.
After Tulane made the first basket of the game, South Florida went on a 14-0 run. The Green Wave (17-13) fought back to tie the game at 23 with a 7-0 run in the second quarter, holding South Florida scoreless for a stretch of 3:44. The Bulls then went on a run and led 32-25 at halftime, with Carla Brito scoring 8 of her 10 first-half points in the second quarter.
South Florida shot 56.3 percent (9-for-16) in a 20-point third quarter, taking a 10-point lead into the final quarter.
Brito ended up with a double-double with 15 points and a career-high 17 rebounds. Vittoria Blasigh led the Bulls with 16 points.
Kendall Sneed led the Green Wave with 18 points.
