Softball – No. 15 Sharks Fall to No. 20 Lions in SSC Series Opener

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The 15th-ranked Nova Southeastern Softball team dropped Friday evening’s SSC Series opener against the 20th-ranked Saint Leo Lions at Mary Cannon Cabot Stadium. Stellar pitching by the Lions helped secure the 3-0 victory.

How it Happened

BOT 3rd – Saint Leo broke through with two outs. Mia Antioco doubled to right-center, setting the table for Samantha Cline, who followed with an RBI double to left, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead. A fielding error on the next play allowed another run to score, making it 2-0.

BOT 4th – The Lions added to their lead when Bailey Neal singled to right-center, bringing home Tessa Larrimore to push the lead to 3-0.

The Sharks attempted to rally but couldn’t overcome the deficit, dropping tonight’s SSC matchup against the Lions 3-0.

What's Next

The Sharks have a shot at redemption in Saturday’s doubleheader, with Game 1 set for 12 p.m. and Game 2 at 2 p.m. at Mary Cannon Cabot Stadium.
