The Jan. 16 Alabama at Florida meet airs on ABC, marking the first-ever collegiate dual meet airing on broadcast television.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida gymnastics’ six televised regular-season appearances includes the first collegiate dual meet on ABC.
The first televised date is the Jan. 16 meeting between Florida and Alabama – the two programs claiming 2021 Southeastern Conference titles. The meeting between 2021 SEC regular-season champion Florida and SEC Championship meet winner Alabama airs live on ABC, marking the first-ever women’s collegiate regular-season dual on broadcast television
Southeastern Conference gymnastics action returns to the SEC Network in 2021. The SEC Network showcases action with 21 live meets in 2022 – including the SEC Championships.
Five Gator regular-season meets air live on the SEC Network:
- Friday Night Heights triple-headers are back again in 2022. A trio of triple-headers kick off at 6 p.m. with the Gators – Jan. 21 at Georgia, Feb. 11 versus LSU and Feb. 18 at Kentucky.
- Two other Florida dual meets also appear on the SEC Network – Jan. 28 versus Arkansas (8:30 p.m.) and Feb. 4 at Missouri (7 p.m.)

The 24/7 sports network launched in August of 2014 and operated by ESPN, has grown the coverage of collegiate gymnastics from 10 live events in 2015 to an all-time high of 21 live events in 2021 and again in 2022.

In the season celebrating the 50th anniversary of Florida women’s athletics, we are thrilled that our competition versus Alabama will be the first collegiate dual meet ever on broadcast television,” Florida Head Coach Jenny Rowland said. “The coverage by SEC Network, ESPN and ABC has really helped bring new fans for our sport nationwide.”
