Irving, Texas, March 13, 2023 – Redshirt Freshman Payton Dixon (Smyrna, Del.) earned the title of American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 6-12, the league announced on Monday.
Dixon started and pitched three complete games last week as well as making four more appearances. She went 5-1, with one shutout, and one save. In her 32 innings, she struck out 29 batters and only walked five. She set a career high nine strikeouts in the 2-0 win over Army.
In her seven appearances, she registered a 0.88 ERA and held her opponents to a .195 average at the plate.
Dixon and the Bulls are back in action Wednesday for a double header against Jacksonville. First pitch is set for 5 p.m.
