Miami Dolphins re-sign Lamm and Mostert

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have re-signed tackle Kendall Lamm and running back Raheem Mostert.

Lamm joined the Dolphins practice squad on Nov. 28, 2022 and was promoted to the active roster on Dec. 31, 2022. He started one game at left tackle on Jan. 1, 2023 at New England. Lamm has played in 87 career games with 29 starts over eight NFL seasons. He’s also appeared in seven playoff games with one postseason start. Lamm began his career as an undrafted college free agent with Houston on May 8, 2015 and has played for Houston (2015-18), Cleveland (2019-20), Tennessee (2021) and Miami (2022). He played collegiately at Appalachian State.

Mostert played 16 games with 14 starts in 2022 and was Miami’s leading rusher last year, totaling a career-high 891 yards on 181 carries (4.9 avg.) and three touchdowns. He also caught 31 passes for 202 yards (6.5 avg.) and two touchdowns along with 25 kickoff returns for 502 yards (20.1 avg.). Mostert joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent on March 17, 2022 from San Francisco, where he spent the previous five-plus seasons (2016-21). He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted college free agent with Philadelphia on May 2, 2015 before spending time with Miami (2015), Baltimore (2015), Cleveland (2015) and Chicago (2016). Mostert played collegiately at Purdue.


Miami Dolphins make trade with L.A. Rams

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced that they have agreed to terms on a trade with the Los Angeles Rams for Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey in exchange for tight end Hunter Long and a 2023 third-round pick.

Ramsey is a three-time first-team All-Pro selection (2017, 2020-21) and has been named to six consecutive Pro Bowls (2017-22). He’s played seven NFL seasons (2016-22) for two teams – Jacksonville and the L.A. Rams – totaling 108 games played and 107 starts. Ramsey has 452 career tackles (375 solo), two sacks, 19 interceptions, 92 passes defensed, seven forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He was the fifth overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft by Jacksonville following a collegiate career at Florida State, where he was a consensus All-American in 2015 and won the BCS National Championship in 2013.

Long played in 16 games with two starts in two seasons (2021-22) for Miami. He totaled one reception for eight yards and one solo special teams tackle. Long originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick (81st overall) by Miami in the 2021 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Boston College, where he earned first-team All-ACC and second-team All-American honors as a junior in 2020.

Jaguars Agree to Terms with Safety Andrew Wingard

JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms on a contract with S Andrew Wingard, the team announced today.

Wingard, 6-0, 200, originally signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2019 and played in 61 games (24 starts) from 2019-22. In his four-year career with Jacksonville, Wingard has posted 170 tackles (119 solo), seven passes defensed and four INTS. In 2021, he started 15 games and posted a career-high 86 tackles.

Wingard attended Wyoming and played in 51 games with the Cowboys, finishing second in Wyoming school history with 454 tackles while adding 18 passes defensed, 10 INTs and five forced fumbles.


LIONS RE-SIGN DL JOHN COMINSKY TO CONTRACT EXTENSION THROUGH THE 2024 SEASONAllen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have re-signed DL John Cominsky to a contract extension through the 2024 season. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.Cominsky returns to Detroit after setting career highs in games played (14), games started (eight), total tackles (30), quarterback hits (12), tackles for loss (five), sacks (4.0), pass defenses (three) and forced fumbles (one) in 2022.He spent the first three seasons of his career (2019-21) with the Atlanta Falcons after they selected him in the fourth round (135th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Charleston University. In 41-career games (nine starts), he has 71 total tackles, 17 quarterback hits, nine tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

LIONS RE-SIGN LB ALEX ANZALONE TO CONTRACT EXTENSION THROUGH THE 2025 SEASON

Allen Park, Mich. – The Detroit Lions announced today that they have re-signed LB Alex Anzalone to a contract extension through the 2025 season. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.Anzalone returns for his third season with the Lions after starting all 17 games in 2022 and producing a career-high 125 tackles (77 solo). He also posted seven tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, six pass defenses, 1.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery last season.He originally joined Detroit as an unrestricted free agent in 2021 after four seasons with the New Orleans Saints (2017-20). Anzalone was selected by the Saints in the third round (76th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Florida.In 69-career games (51 starts), Anzalone has recorded 325 tackles (210 solo), 17 quarterback hits, 16 tackles for loss, 16 pass defenses, 6.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, three interceptions and one fumble recovery.
