REVIEWING WEEK TEN OF THE 2021 COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON

Dear Readers,
I had thought of two other players to consider and be on my Weekly Heisman Trophy Ballot week. UTSA RB Sincere McCormick, Iowa State RB Brock Purdy, and Purdue WR David Bell were among players I considered. Once I decide which three players should be on the Weekly Heisman Trophy Ballot, the next hard part is deciding who should 1,2, and 3 on those weekly Heisman Trophy ballots.

I hope all people who have an official vote for national awards really took note of a lot of players such as Texas A&M PK Seth Small, Iowa P Tory Taylor, N.C State P Trenton Gill, Iowa State DE Will McDonald, Iowa State RB Breece Hall, and more to name for their performances in wins over their respective opponents this week. I just found out the Lombardi Award has already selected four players as finalists. It is a joke that Alabama LB Will Anderson Jr is not a finalist for that prestigious national individual award.

ESPN College Gameday will be in Oxford, MS for the Texas A&M at Mississippi game this SAT while FOX Big Noon Kickoff will emanate from Waco, TX for the Oklahoma at Baylor game.

Take care all! Sincerely, RICH

2. Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati(All-time winningest QB in school history with a 40-5 mark. 317 total offensive yards and 3 TDs responsible for in the UC Bearcats’ 28-20 homecoming win over Tulsa. Passed 15-23. 274 yards. 2 TDs, and 1 INT. Rushed 12 carries, 43 yards, and 1 TD from 3 yards out. Also had a 15-yard carry. His 77 career passing TDs are second-most in school history. 5. Oregon

6. Ohio State

7. Oklahoma State (9)

9. Michigan (10)

10. Notre Dame (OTM)

OTHER TEAMS TO MENTION (OTM):UTSA,  Wake Forest (8), Houston, and Coastal Carolina

RANKINGS ANALYSIS:

Like every week, some changes are made in my top ten rankings…I moved Cincinnati down from #2 to #3 because of their poor performance in a 28-20 home win over Tulsa. The UC Bearcats let the Golden Hurricanes’ 3-5 mark fool them and hung on by the skin of their teeth to remain undefeated and on a current 25-game winning streak in home games. I swear the Tulsa RB broke the plane to score a TD.  I know one logic of Cincy playing horrible. This football team has a road game against South Florida this FRI (6 PM, ESPN2)..Oklahoma moved up from #3 to #2 after a bye-week. The Sooners have a road game against Baylor, who are coming off a tough 30-28 upset road loss against rival TCU, this SAT (Noon, FOX)…No surprise that #1 Georgia had another dominating home win, such as a 43-6 home win over Missouri. The Bulldogs scored 40 unanswered points after spotting the Tigers a 3-0 lead. This football team has a road game against Tennessee this SAT (3:30 PM, CBS)… I will keep Alabama ranked #4 even after escaping with a 20-14 home win over LSU. The Crimson Tide played sloppy in the 1st half-even being fresh coming off a bye-week. I really thought ‘Bama was gonna have a decisive win over the LSU Tigers, who covered whatever spread their was. This football team better get their act together for a home game against New Mexico State this SAT (Noon, SECN)… #5 Oregon played sluggishly in their 26-16 road win over Washington. The Ducks offense keeps improving but more work needs to be done. This football team has a home game against Washington State this SAT (10:30 PM, ESPN)…Ohio State remains ranked #6 after a 26-17 road win over Nebraska. The Buckeyes did a good job in this game but would have scored more than 26 points. This football team has a home game against Purdue this SAT (3:30 PM, ABC)…Oklahoma State moved up from #9 to #7 in my top ten rankings. The OSU Cowboys looked impressive in their 24-3 road win over West Virginia, who I thought would give these Pokes all kinds of trouble. This football team has a home game against TCU this SAT (8 PM, FOX)…Michigan State finally suffered a loss this season and slipped down a spot. The MSU Spartans moved down from #7 to #8. No surprise that this football team would lose to Purdue because the Michigan State defense is weak in defending the passing attack. That weakness finally caught up to the Spartans. This football team will redeem themselves for their home game against Maryland this SAT (4 PM, FOX). The Terrapins has a great passing attack. Regardless of what happens from here on out for Michigan State, the MSU Spartans have surpassed expectations but will strive to reach something big, such as a Big Ten East Division title and 10 wins. The only reason I have this football team in my top ten is because of their lucky road win over Michigan, who I think will keep win out before a Nov.27 home game against Ohio State…Speaking of Michigan, the U-M Wolverines moved up from #10 to #9 after a 29-7 home win over Indiana. Michigan will have a tough road game against Penn State this SAT (Noon, ABC)… Notre Dame is finally back into my top ten rankings. The Fighting Irish had an impressive 34-6 home win over rival Navy. This football team is on a current four-game winning streak since that home loss against Cincinnati. Notre Dame will have a challenging road game against Virginia this SAT (7:30 PM, ABC)… Like I said, UTSA is one of the most surprising teams this season. The undefeated Roadrunners are reaching a lot of firsts in school history, including their first-ever 9-0 start in school history. This football team is coming off a 44-23 road win over UTEP. A home win over Southern Miss, which takes place this SAT (3:30 PM, ESPN+), would mark their first 10-win season in school history…Wake Forest moved down from #8 to among my OTMs after a disappointing 58-55 road loss against North Carolina. The Demon Deacons blew an 18-point lead and a chance to have their first-ever 9-0 start in school history. This football team has a chance to redeem themselves with a home game against N.C State this SAT (7:30 PM, ACCN). The winner of this game could win the ACC Atlantic Division title and play in the ACC Championship Game…Houston is continuing to make strides and surprise everyone. The UH Cougars keep winning after that season-opening neutral-site loss (at NRG Stadium in downtown Houston, TX) to Texas Tech. This football team is coming off a dramatic 44-37 home win over then-undefeated SMU, who were among my OTMs in the last three weeks. Houston better keep winning to earn a second place berth in the AAC Championship Game. The Cougars have a road game against Temple this SAT (Noon, ESPN+)… Coastal Carolina will have to keep winning to keep their hopes of playing the SBC Championship Game. Star QB Grayson McCall, who is the defending SBC Player of the Year, will continue to miss games because of an upper-body injury. The CCU Chanticleers will have a home game against Georgia State this SAT (2 PM)… I might start ranking or mentioning teams with two losses this weekend or after.
