413 student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher for spring 2024 term.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gator student-athletes continue to reach new heights this past spring semester in both the classroom and within the community.
A record 413 student-athletes obtained a 3.0 or better grade point average this spring, erasing the previous high of 401 set this past fall. Every program boasted a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for the second-consecutive semester. Gator student-athletes set an impressive 3.33 cumulative GPA for yet another program record, while featuring a 3.36 spring 2024 GPA.
Through the Gator Experience program, all 21 sports logged 3,144 community service hours from 206 volunteer opportunities benefiting 49 Gainesville organizations.
In the 2023-24 academic year, 92 student-athletes, past and present, earned bachelor’s degree with a record 39 graduating with honors. In addition, 18 completed studies for a master’s degree.
Gators Classroom Success Numbers
Four sports recorded team-high GPAs this past spring. Football finished with a 3.32 semester GPA to reset their 3.15 GPA record set during fall 2023. Secondly, men’s cross country set an impressive 3.57 semester GPA. On the women’s side, golf recorded a 3.62 semester GPA, while volleyball raised the bar after earning a 3.52 semester GPA and 3.29 cumulative GPA – both program bests.
For the first time, Florida men’s tennis led all male sports with at 3.63 for the spring semester and a 3.53 cumulative GPA. Two Southeastern Conference champion teams led the women’s programs. Gymnastics’ 3.70 GPA was the high among all teams for the spring semester. Women’s swimming & diving led all teams with a 3.69 cumulative GPA in 2023-24.
