POSTGAME NOTES

HOWARD TIED FOR NFL LEAD IN INTERCEPTIONS

•It didn’t take long for CB Xavien Howard to intercept his sixth pass of the season today, picking off Broncos QB Drew Lock on the Broncos’ first possession of the game.

•The interception was returned 10 yards to Denver’s 22-yard line and led to a Miami touchdown drive that gave the Dolphins a 7-0 first-quarter lead.

•It improved Miami’s takeaway streak to 16 consecutive games, dating back to 2019. It’s the longest active takeaway streak in the NFL.

•It was the 18th interception of Howard’s career (regular season only), which moves him into a tie for 14th place in team history.

•His six interceptions this season are tied for 15th-most in team history with six games still to play.

•Howard is tied for the NFL lead this season with six interceptions (at the end of today’s afternoon games) and has more interceptions than any NFL player since 2017:

PARKER HAULS IN 13TH TOUCHDOWN IN PAST TWO SEASONS

•WR DeVante Parker gave the Dolphins an early 7-0 lead after a 3-yard touchdown reception from QB Tua Tagovailoa with 10:08 remaining in the first quarter.

•It was Parker’s fourth touchdown reception of the season and 13th since 2019 after he had nine touchdowns last year.

VAN GINKEL FORCES FUMBLE AT 1- YARD LINE

•With the Broncos driving to make it a two-score game with just over five minutes remaining, LB Andrew Van Ginkel stripped RB Melvin Gordonof the ball at the 1-yard line, saving a touchdown. It was recovered by S Eric Rowe.

•The forced fumble was the third of the season by Van Ginkel, which is tied for third-most in the NFL this season at the end of today’s afternoon games.

•Miami has now forced 11 fumbles on the year, tied for second-most in the NFL at the end of today’s afternoon games.

SOLID DAY FOR MIAMI SPECIAL TEAMS

•K Jason Sanders converted field goals from 47 and 53 yards today. His 53-yard field goal with 7:51 to go in the fourth quarter made it a one-score game.

•At the end of today’s afternoon games, Sanders is tied for third in the NFL in field goals made (22) and is second in field goal percentage (95.7). •Sanders’ six field goals made from 50+ yards are tied for the most in the NFL this season and his 14 field goals made from 40+ yards are also tied for most in the NFL.

•Sanders is Miami’s all-time most accurate kicker, converting 86.3 pct. (63-of-73) of his field goals opportunities.

•P Matt Haack had six punts with a net punt average of 45.7 today. His 43.3 net punt average this season ranks seventh in the NFL and his 40.5 career net punt average is best in team history.
