Pompano Beach offers free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes. The 8-week training will address disaster preparedness response skills such as how to identify and anticipate hazards, extinguish small fires, conduct light search and rescue, assist emergency responders, apply basic medical techniques, and reduce hazards in the home and workplace.
Over 1,000 people have already graduated from this popular program that fosters a great sense of community pride and creates a terrific support system for our emergency response agencies. The program is open to Pompano Beach residents and business owners.
Classes begin Thursday, August 4, 2022 and will be held every Thursday for eight consecutive weeks from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Pompano Beach Fire Rescue Training Center.
CERT graduates are provided with a certificate of completion as well as emergency and protective equipment for their home or business.
