PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES

Forward Patric Hornqvist

On the chemistry across the lineup:

“I think it’s great—great coaching. When you switch lines like that it gives everyone an extra boost. You can see that in the end even Barky stays on the blue line to keep that puck in. That’s just confidence. And when we play with confidence and that quickness, it’s hard to beat us. And that’s usually what happens when you change lines sometimes, you’re like, ‘Let’s go now,’ and you play with the puck and do the right things. So, great coaching and big goal for us.”

On teammate Claude Giroux:

“He fits in great. He’s a great person, he’s a leader, and he works so hard on both sides of the puck. He’s a shorter version of Barky. And when you have those two up the middle, even putting one on the side—we have a dangerous team. He’s been fitting in well and it’s nice to see him score a few goals here lately, too—it’s going to keep coming.”

Forward Sam BennettOn his 100th career goal and 200th point

Scoring the game winning goal is most important and obviously it is a great feeling scoring 100 [goals] as well. It was a great feeling scoring that one.”

On Team Chemistry:

“When you put good players together it usually becomes pretty easy. We have so many good players on this team that can play with anyone, and who can play different positions. That is big for our group having that depth.”

Interim Head Coach Andrew Brunette

On Recent Success of the Power Play:

“… I have really liked our attack mentality the last couple of games around the net. Having Rhino [Reinhart] around the net. It was hard. We only had two, so it was tough to gauge it, but it is nice that they are getting rewarded for some of the plays that were making.”

On Team confidence:

“I think when you feel good in a lot of these situations is that we didn’t really deviate from the plan. We stayed within our structure and stayed within ourselves, we didn’t go outside and be individual. As a group we kind of rallied and we didn’t change too much. We felt that there is self-belief that if we do these things, we are going to come back and score goals… I think there is a good understanding in our group and that speaks to the leadership of the guys in there. They understand that and it is a good thing to have.”
