PANTHERS POSTGAME QUOTES

Forward Carter Verhaeghe

On the third period effort tonight:

“It is the sign of a good team. We talked about it in the room. We knew they were going to push back in the second, but getting that goal was huge on the power play. It is the sign of a good team. We can play any game.”

On upcoming road trip:

“We are ready for it. We love being home and playing in front of our fans. I think it’s going to be good bonding. A couple days on the road and hang out with the boys.”

Forward Jonathan Huberdeau

On breaking the Panthers franchise record tonight for most assists in a single season:
“It’s been a good year. I feel we’re getting points—everybody’s getting points on our team. We have a lot of depth. It’s just been a fun year. Obviously, we’re scoring a lot of goals. Tonight, I was just happy to get the two points. The franchise record…doesn’t really matter.”

On Reinhart’s hat trick:
“Before the shift I was like if you are open, I am going to pass it to you…It was great, he’s been playing so well this year. Obviously, he scored two huge goals tonight and finished it up with a hatty.”
Forward Sam Reinhart

On Florida’s power play performance:

“I think we have been winning some battles and extending some plays and I think when you look five or six games ago, we were just overthinking a little bit. When you tend to do that, you try and force plays a little bit too much opposed to reading and reacting. We have enough skill out there to kind of just trust our system a little bit and simplify and we have been having success with that.”

Interim Head Coach Andrew Brunette

On team success as well as individual players’ success:
“I obviously enjoy it. And they’re doing it in the right way. They’re doing it in a team environment. They’re doing the right things. It’s not a year where they’re just looking for their own points and not playing a team game–I think they bought in. For a coach, nothing’s more rewarding besides seeing them get rewarded for what they’ve done. Still got a lot of hockey left, and they can pile up the numbers, hopefully, and keep pulling at the rate they’re going.”

On Lindbohm’s debut with the Panthers:
“Yeah, I was really impressed with him. I thought he managed the game really well. I thought he brought a little physicality to the game, played with a little hardness. You can tell he’s a veteran. He managed in the third period—did some really smart things and put himself in good positions. So, it was good to see him tonight.”
