TAMPA (Nov. 12, 2019) – The University of South Florida women’s basketball team got 16 points from Enna Pehadzic (Horsens, Denmark) and a career high 14 points, along with 11 rebounds, from Bethy Mununga (Zellik, Belgium) as the Bulls dominated Howard University, 82-53, at the Yuengling Center on Tuesday night. The win improves USF to 3-0 on the year while the Bison drop to 1-2.

Joining Pehadzic and Mununga with double figures in the scoring column was Kristyna Brabencova (Brno, Czech Republic) with a career high 11 points and Maria Alvarez (Bal Harbour, Fla.) equaling her career best with 11.

In addition, the Bulls got 33 points from their bench, in the win, as nine of the 10 players that saw the court found their way into the scoring column.

USF, No. 25 in the most recent Associated Press Top 25 poll, led by just six at the end of the first quarter, however blew the game open with a 23-8 second quarter to take a 43-22 lead into the locker room at the break. Included in the second quarter was a 12-0 run that extended the USF lead from four points, 22-18 with just over eight minutes left in the half, to 16, 34-18, with 5:19 remaining before the break. The Bulls would not look back the rest of the way.

The Green and Gold extended its lead to as many as 31 points in the second half, equaling their season high.

USF shot 41.4 percent (29-for-70) from the field on the night, including an impressive 58.3 percent (7-for-12) in the fourth quarter, while holding Howard to just 28.8 percent (17-for-59) from the field.

12-0 – Leading by just four in the second half, the Bulls put together a 12-0 run that extended their lead to 16 and putting the game out of reach for the Bison.
