Cruise Send 2026 First Round Draft Pick to South Bay Lakers
DETROIT – The Motor City Cruise, NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, announced today the club traded for the returning rights to guard Quincy Olivari from the South Bay Lakers in exchange for a 2026 first round draft pick.
Olivari, 6-3, 200, is entering his second season in the NBA G League. Last season, the Atlanta native played 40 games with South Bay and averaged 17.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.7 minutes per game. Additionally, Olivari appeared in two NBA games with the Los Angeles Lakers and averaged 1.5 points in 5.2 minutes.
Prior to his professional career, Olivari played five years collegiately, appearing in 147 games with Rice (2019-23) and Xavier (2023-24). While at Rice, he averaged 13.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game and was named to the C-USA All-Conference Second Team in 2023. Olivari became Rice’s all-time leader in three-point field goals made (252) and ranked 10th in program history in total points (1,487). Following his standout four-year career with the Owls, Olivari transferred to Xavier for his graduate season, where he started all 34 games and averaged 19.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 32.2 minutes for the Musketeers. He earned All-Big East honors and finished his collegiate career with averages of 14.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 27.6 minutes per game.
The Motor City Cruise currently hold four total draft picks ahead of the 2025 NBA G League Draft (No. 7, 26, 48 & 59). The event will take place on Oct. 25, beginning at 1 p.m. ET. The team will open its fifth annual training camp on Oct. 27 at the Henry Ford Pistons Performance Center, running through Nov. 7.
