Cruise send Kyler Edwards and Jaime Echenique to Wisconsin Herd
DETROIT – The Motor City Cruise, G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, announced today that the team has acquired Jontay Porter from the Wisconsin Herd in exchange for Kyler Edwards and Jaime Echenique.
Porter, 6-11, 240, averaged 12.4 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 28.2 minutes per game in 32 total games between the G League Showcase and regular season for Wisconsin. A two-year G League veteran, Porter has appeared in 41 NBA G League games for the Herd and Memphis Hustle, averaging 11.3 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 25.7 minutes per game. The former University of Missouri forward appeared in 11 NBA games with the Memphis Grizzlies during the 2020-21 season where he averaged 2.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 0.1 assists in 4.9 minutes per game.
Edwards appeared in 41 games for the Cruise last season and averaged 11.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 40.2% from the field.
Echenique made 27 appearances for Motor City last season and averaged 11.4 points and 6.4 rebounds while shooting 50.6% from the field.
