MICHIGAN SECTION PGA ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

East Lansing, MI – The Michigan Section PGA elected new officers for a two-year term at the Association’s Annual Meeting attended by over 200 Michigan PGA Members. The meeting was held October 28, 2019 at Eagle Eye Golf Club in East Lansing, Michigan. Bob Bales takes over as the Association’s President.Bales, a member of The PGA of America since 1995, will succeed Kevin McKinley, of Treetops Resort. McKinley will begin his term as Honorary President.John Pershern, of Lochmoor Club in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, was elected Vice President. Pershern, a member of The PGA of America since 1994, has been the Head Golf Professional at Lochmoor Club since February 2011 and will succeed Bob Bales.Dean Kolstad, of Gull Lake View Golf Club in Augusta, Michigan, has been elected Secretary. Kolstad, a member of The PGA of America since 2001, has been the Director of Golf at Gull Lake since 2001 and will succeed John Pershern.“The Association is fortunate to be able to utilize Bob, John and Dean’s expertise going forward. This group of officers is dedicated to working with the Board of Directors to serve the needs of the entire membership,” said Kevin Helm, Michigan PGA Executive Director.The Michigan PGA and its 700 members and associates serve the Michigan golf community by promoting the game of golf and overall vitality of the game.
