Summer…kids…vacation or staycation? … The fun doesn’t have to stop.
Quality fun, quality time, is something that never has to change with the times.
It has been a long, uncertain, crazy summer break during these senseless times and the conundrum is how to make sure we feel like we’ve had a vacation. Can a “staycation” be a lot more valuable this summer?
How many different ideas for a retreat might we be able to think of?
According to Wikipedia, “a staycation is a period in which an individual or family stays home and participates in leisure activities within day-trip distance of their home and doesn’t require overnight accommodation”.
No matter where we are in the world, can’t we think “outside the box” for some great ideas?
For those of us experiencing summer, planning activities outdoors is a great start. Some of us around the world may be experiencing winter or cooler weather, maybe outdoor and indoor activities are equal options.
A staycation can be many things. It seems we always plan destination holidays and forget about what is right in our backyards, even our very OWN backyard!
Remember no matter where you live, it’s a place other people travel to for their vacations. Why not be a local tourist!? It doesn’t have to be something that has to cost much money either. There are many FREE opportunities within our local cities we may not be aware are available.
So, why not ACT like a local tourist?
We can get updated on things that are open in our area and make a list of the things we’d like to do.
What type of indoor family activities might’ve been put of that could be great to do now that we may have some time?
How about taking an adventurous local drive for some fresh air and new scenery, plan activities, or just lounge around doing “ME” or “US” stuff?
Prioritizing quality family time and a tiny bit of “ME” time can be like a “diamond in the rough”, very precious.
What might it be like if we live every day now with adventure and live every tomorrow with a little bit more?
Don’t be afraid to plan some excursion especially for you. You deserve it!
Whatever it is, make it special and don’t forget the “ME” time! It’s “ME” Monday after all, a weekly holiday designed especially for you. If you’re not sure how to fit it into your schedule, contact [email protected] or send a message.
Be safe. Be healthy. Be self-responsible. Be POWERFUL!
