BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic’s men’s basketball team returns to Boca Raton to host Florida Gulf Coast at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena on Saturday, Nov. 30. The game will air on ESPN+ and tip off at 6 p.m. Doors to the general public open at 5 p.m.
This will mark the first outing for the Owls at the Elly in 22 days after a two-week road trip. Florida Atlantic has won 13 consecutive games at home and owns a 32-1 record dating back to March of 2022.
As part of the “Blackout Game,” fans are encouraged to wear black gear and the first 750 students will receive a free black t-shirt.

LAST TIME OUT
The Owls competed in the 2024 Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic, hosted by ESPN Events. Out of eight teams, FAU finished in fourth place thanks to an 86-78 win over Oklahoma State in the first round.
ABOUT THE OWLS
- Head Coach John Jakus enters his first season at the helm of the Owls
- All eight of the team’s players who have logged minutes in their first five games are averaging at least eight points per game. The current scoring leader is sophomore forward Kaleb Glenn at 13.3 ppg
- Center Matas Vokietaitis has won back-to-back American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week awards
- Graduate guard KyKy Tandy is nearing 1,000 career points, currently at 992
- As a team, FAU was ranked fifth in the American Athletic Conference’s Preseason Coaches’ poll. Tandy was named to the preseason All-AAC Second Team
ABOUT THE EAGLES
- FGCU is led by Head Coach Pat Chambers, currently in his fourth season with the program
- Returning to the Eagles is graduate forward Keeshawn Kellman, who in the previous season finished second in nation in field goal percentage and is currently averaging 10.3 points on 70% shooting
- Senior guard Dallion Johnson leads in scoring at 12.9 points per game
- Junior wing Jevin Muniz has dished out a team-high 29 assists
- Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast have faced off eight times and have an even 4-4 record, most recently a 72-68 Eagles victory on Dec. 30, 2023 in Fort Myers. Three of the Owls’ four wins have come in Boca Raton.
