9/4/2025 | No. 19 Men’s Soccer | Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – No. 19 Florida Atlantic men’s soccer (3-1) saw its perfect start to the season halted on Thursday night with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of North Florida (2-3). The Owls conceded for the first time this season when the Ospreys opened the scoring in the 14th minute. They would add another in the 29th minute to take a 2-0 advantage into halftime. The hopes of a second-half comeback were dealt a critical blow in the 52nd minute. Senior Kerfalla Toure was shown a straight red card for a challenge at the top of the Owls’ penalty area. The Owls played the final 38 minutes with 10 men. UNF added goals in the 59th, 77th, and 86th minutes to stretch its advantage to five. Junior goalkeeper Alfred Mikkelsen, who set the program record for most consecutive minutes without a goal (283:22), finished with five saves on 18 shots faced. The Owls continue a four-game road stretch on Sunday at Stetson. Start time is set for 6 p.m. in DeLand. |
