M-SOC | Mikkelsen Earns Week One Goalkeeper of the Week Honors

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic men’s soccer junior Alfred Mikkelsen has been named the American Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Seniors Aboubacar Traore and Kerfalla Toure were each named as weekly honorable mentions.
Mikkelsen opened his Division I career with back-to-back clean sheets in victories over Creighton and Omaha. The native of Soro, Denmark, notched six stops in the 3-0 win on Thursday. He would add two more saves in the 2-0 victory on Sunday night.
Traore has factored into four of the Owls’ five goals so far this season. He tallied two assists in the season opener and added a goal and another assist on Sunday.
Toure has played 168 of a possible 180 minutes at center back in the two matches thus far. The senior from Dorval, Quebec, Canada, served a vital role in holding Creighton and Omaha to a combined 17 shots with only eight on target.
